GREEN CHURCH STATEMENT

First Congregational Church has been designated a Green Church by the Southern New England Conference of the United Church of Christ (UCC), our denomination.  Having Green Church status recognizes the work of our church and its members to promote environmental responsibility.

In order to be a Green Church, First Congregational needed to fulfill a number of actions, such as organizing an Eco Action Team, sponsoring talks on environmental topics, recycling, planting a pollinator garden, and celebrating Earth Day Sunday.
